About me
- “De Madriz de toda la vida” (born and raised in Madrid - Spain).
- Mother of two lovely cats (Cero and Uno):
- They are my “gatijos”; gat
o → cat, hijos → children.
- What I love most in the world is eating:
- 🥰 → tortilla de patata, jamón, croquetas, cachopo and paella / rice (all kinds).
- 🤮 → vinegar.
- I practice yoga, pilates, running and wall climbing regularly. I also like hiking; I do geocaching sometimes.
- I love to travel, I have only one continent left to visit.
- I love board games (recommendations: Hive, Patchwork, & Codenames) and video games (recommendations: *Hollow Knight,* *Evoland 2 & It takes Two*).
- I love typography, I’ve created one of my own and consider it a “responsive” font. Take a look here if you are curious.
- I used to be a designer before converting to development.
- I converted because my developers wouldn’t take my pixel-perfect designs to production, so I said: “Do it yourself”.
- You can take a look at my website here (it’s a bit obsolete, sorry 🫠…)
😁 Strengths
- I am very hard-working, constant, accountable, and reliable, you can count on me for whatever you need.
- I adapt quickly, I am resilient, I like to make things happen and I do whatever it takes.
- I love the blank page and new challenges, creating from scratch, experimenting, and building, I am creative as hell.
😩 Weaknesses
- I talk a lot, I like to meet people and exchange experiences. Anytime I bore you tell me to shut up, plz!
- I tend to multitask in some meetings, but I follow the conversation perfectly. I know it’s not right, but I want to get ahead on work. Please bring it to my attention if you feel you have to.
😖 Where I tend to be misunderstood
- When I say: “I don’t care” it is because I agree with what you are suggesting. It is a typical Spanish saying that means: “Whatever you prefer, you decide”. It doesn’t mean that I don’t want to get involved or that I won’t collaborate.
- I like to have fun, so everything I do is with that intention. That doesn’t mean it’s not important or that I’m not going to give 100%, I like the work to be relaxed and everyone to be at ease.
My assumptions about you
- You are assuming my best intentions (I’ll do my best to speak with positive intent). I don’t mean to offend you or question your way of running things. I want you to feel comfortable and I wish the best for you/Capchase&me. I care about our growth.
- You rock at your job. If I ask questions it’s because I’m the one who doesn’t know anything.
- You will reach out if you need my help. For me, the best way to learn is by doing, by facing the lions in the ground. That’s how I learned. I want you to try and I know you can do it all by yourself. Anyway, I want you to know that you can count on me.
- You will be candid with me. I will listen and incorporate feedback. All suggestions are welcome.
Working with me
- Ping me if you need me. I’ll try to answer/help ASAP.
- I am a “straight-to-the-point” person.
- I do believe in the feedback culture. I am trying to create a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts. Radical candor.
- We are a team. If you shine, I shine.
- I hate it when people don’t look at my calendar before scheduling a meeting with me. I would love it if you would respect my other meetings, focus time, and lunchtime (if possible).
- I hate meetings without a purpose, I love to talk, but if we’re working, we’re working.
- I love Spanish sayings and I try to translate them into English… so expect those kinds of things in our conversations, e.g.: “dormirse en los laureles” → “to sleep on the laurels”.
- I say: “osea”, “es que”, and “a ver” a lot… is kind of my brand.
My Principles
- I don’t do things I don’t feel comfortable doing.
- I believe in leading by example. Demonstrating integrity, humility, and a strong work ethic, serving as a model of professionalism, accountability, and ethical behavior.
- We can all shine at the same time, there is plenty of room for all of us to grow. I will give my all to make it happen.
- I strive to foster an environment where team members feel comfortable taking risks, sharing ideas, and admitting mistakes, fostering innovation and growth, and creating a supportive and inclusive team environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
- I continuously invest in staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, maintaining technical proficiency to guide informed decision-making.
- I respect and support the well-being of team members by promoting a healthy work-life balance and encouraging reasonable working hours and time off to recharge.
